10 Years is an American alternative metal band, formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2000. The band features members frontman Jesse Hasek, guitarist Ryan "Tater" Johnson, guitarist Matt Wantland, bassist Lewis "Big Lew" Cosby, and drummer Brian Vodinh. The band was signed to Universal Republic in 2005 and soon after released their major label debut, 'The Autumn Effect' which featured the smash singles "Wasteland" and "Through the Iris." Their sophomore effort, 'Division' was released on May 13, 2008.
Guitarist Matt Wantland of the band 10 Years was kind enough to call in to CleveRock Music Portal headquarters after their kickass performance at Rock on the Range in Columbus the previous weekend to talk about that show, the band's brand new album release, 'Division' (released just eight days before the interview on 5.13.08), the pressures of living up to high standards on their follow up album and avoiding the "sophomore slump," why 10 Years choses to "go deep" with their lyrics in an industry full of generic and meaningless jabber, the success of their debut single "Wasteland," the band's upcoming summer on Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution Tour, and much more. Enjoy!

Billy Howerdel is the founding member, guitarist, songwriter, and producer for the band A Perfect Circle. Howerdel functioned as a guitar technician for Tool during the tour and recording of 'Ćnima,' working with Maynard James Keenan, whom he met in 1992. During this time, Howerdel played Keenan some of his songs, and Keenan offered his vocals if Howerdel ever decided to form a band. Despite originally considering a female singer, Howerdel would eventually accept Keenan's offer. In 1999, Howerdel founded A Perfect Circle, and invited Keenan to join in as the singer.
Billy Howerdel's new band Ashes Divide have officially inked a deal with Island Records and released 'their' debut album on April 8, 2008. Howerdel handled nearly all the instruments in the studio for the release, sans the drums for which he recruited session-man Josh Freese.
Ashes Divide lone band member Billy Howerdel calls in to the CleveRock Music Portal hotline to discuss his recent appearance at Rock on the Range, his new album, 'Keeping Telling Myself It's Alright,' the challenges of stepping up into the spotlight as a solo artist, his other project, A Perfect Circle, his recording process, and the challenge of spreading the word about a new act today.
