Live Concert Review - Cobra Starship, Hit the Lights, Sing it Loud - House of Blues - Cleveland, OH - 10.12.08 By Lois Elswick
Published: October 14, 2008
Print Email The school bus apparently pulled up to the corner of 4th and Euclid and dumped seas of caffeinated high schoolers ready to dance their asses off to celebrate Cobra Starship’s “Sassyback” tour. Sporting the trademark bright colors the band is famous for, these teenagers packed themselves into the House of Blues. Cobra apparently scored an ‘A’ in their time management and considerate living courses as they knew enough to realize that their crowd was young and needed to go to school the next day. This night was an early one. Early is not bad, as long as everybody leaves satisfied.

Live concert review- Hanson - House of Blues Cleveland - 9.29.08 By Kathleen Mallott Published: October 1, 2008 Print Email MMMBOP! It may be the first thing that comes to one’s mind when they hear the name Hanson. But during their September 29th concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland they proved to have much more in their repertoire. After a long and drawn out wait from the time opening act The Veronicas took their last bows, finally, the much anticipated moment was here. Taylor took a seat at his piano, Isaac grabbed his guitar, and Zac clutched his drumsticks. The crowd went crazy. Starting out the concert with “Something Going Around” from their new album ‘The Walk,’ it was clear that Hanson is not a teenybop burn out from the 90s, but a matured group in the midst of their prime. After a segment containing mostly new material that those in attendance seemed less familiar with, Isaac got the crowd pumped as he said the next song was “from a couple years ago.” As the first bars of “Where’s The Love” started echoing through the walls the crowd showered Hanson with shrieks. The mostly female crowd (and males that should be ashamed of themselves for attending the concert) were jumping up and down and singing every word to the 1997 hit.
