Weiland Slashed, Virgins Announced, Nickelback Drunk, Cleveland Skipped By Joel Published: April 1, 2008 PrintEmail
Weiland Slashed
How convenient for Scott Weiland that Stone Temple Pilots are reuniting this summer. After several weeks of open feuding with his bandmates, Velvet Revolver has voted Weiland out. The band’s legendary guitarist Slash noted, "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either. Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on.” Velvet Revolver previously announced plans to hit the recording studio this spring/summer, but it is unclear if they will continue, and if so, how they will proceed. Check out our photo gallery to relive the Scott Weiland era of Velvet Revolver.
2008 Virgin Mobile Lineup
Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots will headline the Virgin Mobile Festival, set for Aug. 9-10 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Md. The entire lineup will be announced in the coming weeks. This year’s festival does not interfere with Chicago’s Lollapalooza, which is a good thing, because Virgin Mobile could never compete with Lolla’s headliners of Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and Rage Against the Machine. And what’s the deal with Jack Johnson headlining everything damn festival this summer? Don’t get me wrong, love the guy, but a festival headliner? C’mon now.
Nicelback DUI, No Charges For Awful Music
Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was found guilty of DUI in a Canadian court. Unfortunately, no charges were brought against him for the awful music he subjects the world too, and he doesn’t face any jail time.
Where's The Cleveland Love?
311/Snoop Dogg, Disturbed/Slipknot, and The Raconteurs all announced tour dates today. All are skipping over Cleveland. It’s beginning to look a lot like last summer…
