And I said, ‘How ‘bout A Revolution…’

Linkin Park once again will take their Projekt Revolution Tour to the road, and include a Cleveland area date at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls on August 19th. In addition to Linkin Park, the fifth version of the tour’s main stage will feature Audioslave/Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, Ashes Divide – fronted by Billy Howerdel of A Perfect Circle, and electro-rockers The Bravery. The second stage will be headlined by Ozzfest and Warped tour veterans Atreyu, and will also include performances from 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Armor For Sleep, and Street Drum Corps. We’ve once again beat the venue and Ticketmaster to getting this event posted online, so exact ticket information is not available. Expect lawn tickets to be in the $25 range and pavilion seats to cost up to $75. More information will be posted in our news section as details roll in and a full preview is coming to our concert calendar in the near future…stay tuned.

Three Out of Four Labels Sign On With MySpace

Three out of the four major record companies inked a deal with MySpace Music today, making the hellish social networking site even more of a monster. Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, and Sony BMG signed on to create MySpace Music, leaving only EMI as the lone holdout. MySpace Music will be about more than just selling music downloads. It’s all about sucking money in from every aspect of the MySpace experience using music. MySpace Music will target three areas: 1) The MySpace Music Homepage 2) The 5 million MySpace artist profiles 3) Individual user profiles. MySpace Music offerings include DRM-free downloads and ad-supported audio and video streaming. The new music service also boasts a mobile storefront powered by News Corporation's Jamba mobile company. Although No one will ever be able to jump in the Itunes competition, this service will pose a serious threat to Napster, Rhapsody, eMusic, and the like. It will be very interesting to see how this unfolds.

I Lovett

Lyle Lovett is scheduled to play the Lakewood Civic Auditorium on July 9th. Ticket information is not available at this time. Check back to our concert calendar soon for full details.

Weiland Strikes Back

Just days after getting the boot from Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland fires back at Slash and company for the comments they made about his dismissal. "I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth," he says. "The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun ... at times, but let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member, no need to mention his name)." Returning to STP, he says, will be a stark contrast to playing with "a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang." And in a final dig, Weiland weighed in on Velvet Revolver's hunt for a new singer: "I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice," he said. BWAHAHA. Nice shot, Scotty.
