EmailCleveRock Exclusive: Stone Temple Pilots To Play in Cleveland
Stone Temple Pilots will entertain the theater crowd at Playhouse Square on
May 20th. This will be only their third show after reuniting, and one of, if not the most intimate venues on their reunion tour. As usual, we’ve beat the band’s official site, Pollstar, the venue’s official site, and the ticket outlets to the punch, so no further information is available at this time. Updates including ticket prices, on sale dates, and opening acts will be announced here shortly, and a full preview will be available on our concert calendar in the coming weeks. STP is also playing the sold-out
Rock on the Range festival in Columbus on May 17th, which will be their first show together since 2001. Tough shit if you didn’t get a ticket. As we reported last week, Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland got the boot from the other act he fronted, Velvet Revolver after a drawn out and public feud with Slash and company.
Speaking of Rock on the Range…SOLD OUT
Ya. It’s SOLD OUT. No ticket? Visit Ebay or call or friendly neighborhood scalper. The show is going to be a real kick in the pants; featuring the first performance since reuniting from
Stone Temple Pilots, (ya, we know, we mentioned that above) a reunited
Filter, Billy Howerdel’s of A Perfect Circle
Ashes Divide, Serj Tankian, Red, Sevendust, and many more. You may want to pony up and pay the pretty penny the pipers are asking for the ducats.
Told You So…Radiohead @ Blossom
Although CleveRock reported this news last week,
Radiohead announced only today that they will be playing Blossom Music Center on Monday,
August 4th.

Reserved pavilion seats are priced at $50, and general admission lawn tickets are priced at $30 (wow!) Pre-sale will begin August 9th through the band’s WASTE fanclub, and public onsale through Ticketmaster starts April 12th at 10:00 AM. The show will be sold out shortly after public on sale, so buy early, pay the scalpers $200, or miss out. Grizzly Bear will open. You won’t want to miss them. Radiohead is oddly enough playing the opening night of Lollapalooza, confusing almost everyone who had predicted them as the festivals closer. This also adds to this news posters prediction that Lolla will go to a single headliner format each night this year. We’ll see what happens when the schedule is released in June. Radiohead is on their first major US tour since 2003 (not counting a short run of intimate venues they did last summer) in support of their pay-whatever-the-hell-you-want-even-nothing-at-all digital album release,
‘In Rainbows.’Speaking of Lollapalooza – HOLY SHIT!!

The headliners that CleveRock leaked last week are in fact true.
Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, Kanye West, and The Raconteurs have been confirmed in today’s lineup announcement. CleveRock predicts that this year’s festival will go to a one headliner format each night, with Radiohead, Rage, and NIN anchoring each night. It just makes fucking sense, dude. Other CleveRock favorites on the bill include:
Bloc Party, Akron’s own
The Black Keys,
Broken Social Scene, G. Love and Special Sauce, Explosions in the Sky, Gogol Bordello, John Butler Trio, Duffy, Grizzly Bear, MGMT, Black Kids, and The Blakes. Tickets are selling right now for $190, but will soon be bumped up to $205. Hats off to Lollapalooza for including all fees up front, and not tacking on extra bullshit service or handling charges like the other festivals. That’s a class act. Just like the $2 bottle of water they offer, which is half of what most festivals charge. This is THE BEST FESTIVAL to attend, and now it has THE BEST LINEUP of the year. Mark my words, this year the festival
WILL SELL OUT. See you there?? If not, you can check out CleveRock for our daily reports and photos from the festival.
Your Blossom Is A Wonderland

Blossom Music Center welcomes the man who calls your body a “wonderland” on July 17th. In tow with
John Mayer with be the overplayed ‘bubbly’ cutie popstress
Colbie Caillat and the very talented and underrated
Brett Dennen. (If you haven’t checked out his album,
‘So Much More,’ do so.) You wouldn’t expect anything else from CleveRock then to have this announcement before Mayer’s official site, Ticketmaster, and Blossom, so we don’t have ticket prices for you yet, but we can tell you that they will go on sale on April 19th. A presale is available to John’s Local 83 fan club beginning April 10th. We’ll keep you posted on ticket prices once they roll in, and check out our concert calendar in the coming weeks for a full show preview.
Youngstown Getting Some Love

Our friend to the east is getting some concert love on the books in the near future. Youngstown’s Chevrolet Centre will see
Lil’ Wayne on April 20th, the man who invented funk,
George Clinton and his Parliament Funkadelic on May 9th, and
Carrie Underwood with special guest
John Michael Carroll on June 11th. Tickets for Lil’ Wayne are priced from $42-$71 and available
here. Of course, the venue and ticket source still have no idea about the Carrie Underwood or George Clinton show as CleveRock got the scoop first, but we’ll dig a little further and get you some ticket info for those shows and keep you posted. Thanks to our loyal Youngstown visitors for checking out the site, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop of shows coming out your way.
For Those Who Just Can’t Wait…

For those of you (like me) who cried and screamed “TEASE!” when
New Kids on the Block announced they were touring, but not until fall, if you’re up for a road trip to the worst state in the union, the boys are playing a gig in New Jersey on May 17th as part of New York radio station Z100's annual Zootopia concert. The event at the Izod Center in East Rutherford will also feature Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, the Jonas Brothers, OneRepublic, Simple Plan, Sara Bareilles, Gavin DeGraw and Ferras. Anyone want to chip in for gas and road snacks?
