Rumor after rumor, speculation and chatter, ‘tis finally official: Phish (the band with the frontman that looks like Chuck Norris' long lost twin brother) will, in fact, reunite for 2009. Already on the books is a three night stand at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA March 6-8. A pre-sale is currently going on via Phish’s official website for tickets to all three shows. There is a maximum of a two ticket request per show. One “catch” (if you can call it that) to the system is that you must give your credit card number when you enter the lottery. Your card will never be charged if you are not selected for tickets, however, you will not have a chance to review your seat location before your card is charged, and all sales are final. Bottom line, you don’t know if you are buying a front row ticket or last row behind the stage when you enter your CC digits. It’s all about luck of the draw. You may register for the lottery here. Public onsale begins October 18th via Ticketmaster. We’ll have a ticket purchase link for you as the date draws nearer. Although Phish has never broke into the mainstream, they are one of the top touring acts of the past three decades, takin in over $175 million in ticket sales since 1989. NIN GOT GAME
Nine Inch Nails is planning to release a branded version of the popular iPhone music game 'TapTap Revenge.' The special edition of the game will feature 16 tracks from the recent albums 'The Slip' and 'Ghosts I-IV,' some of which were edited or remixed specifically for the game. The game will be priced at $5 and released later this month via the Itunes store.
Keeping the Black Man Down
Another example of the entertainment industry keeping the black man down: Kanye West’s as yet untitled HBO show in progress, which is described as being like Larry David’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiam’ – except with mostly black people – ‘Family Matters’ style. (Did I do that?) The show’s would be producer, Larry Charles recently stated in an interview, "it was too hard core for HBO. Also, HBO's management shifted. HBO doesn't have a good track record when it comes to black shows, and I felt like that may have had something to do with it also." Charles also noted, “I don't see a lot of shows about that experience at all. This was very entertaining and we showed it to a lot of people. People gave it a very good response, and it seems to be on the shelf right now." Larry also mentioned that he thinks Kanye is misunderstood, and much more funny and clever than people give him credit for. "Even the whole being-full-of-himself stuff is a joke to him, and he likes to play that of being like Kanye. He's kind of a brilliant guy actually."

British/American duo The Kills are missing a tour bus. Huh? The band poses the following question on their website: “How can 3 tons of black metal vanish into thin air?” Damn good question. Either the driver is dead or in some sort of serious danger, or more likely, has stolen the bus. Weird. We’ll keep you posted as more develops on this bizarre story.
