Paw Patrol Live!, a family-favorite event that comes through Playhouse Square annually, will return to the complex’s KeyBank State Theatre for five shows over two days: Saturday, February 8, and Sunday, February 9.
CleveRocks spoke with one of the show’s performers, Camille Jett, who portrays fan-favorite Rocky in this production! Camille gives the scoop and essential details about the show!
CleveRock: Different productions of Paw Patrol Live! come through Cleveland on an annual basis. Each time, there is a different theme and story to follow. Can you talk about this specific production, Paw Patrol Live! “A Mighty Adventure” that will play in Cleveland on February 8-9?
C.J.: Paw Patrol Live! “A Mighty Adventure” takes place right after the #1 box office hit left off after Ryder and all the pups saved Adventure City with their mighty pup powers. And so in this show, the Paw Patrol faces their greatest challenge yet when scientist Victoria Vance unleashes her latest invention on their Mighty Street Party. Armed with their supercharged powers, the pups take their positivity and mighty teamwork to foil her plans and keep the party going.

CleveRock: What fan-favorite Paw Patrol characters are part of this production?
C.J.: You get to see Ryder and all of your favorite pups, including Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, and Liberty. And you’ll also see new characters that we haven’t had live on stage before that are in the movie, like TV reporter Sam Stringer and scientist Victoria Vance.
CleveRock: From a performer’s perspective, is there a scene in this show that audiences consistently go bonkers for?
C.J. We have a number called “Runaway Train.” We have a whole train that comes on the stage, and, as the song title suggests, it’s a runaway train. The pups have to save the train. And that song is just so much fun. We have a pop star/music sensation. Luke Stars, lead his band that is stuck on this train in a really fun song and just having fun in the face of the danger of the train running away. And it’s a really, really fun song. And you get to see some really cool special effects with the pups’ powers and how they save the train. And not to give away too much in how they save the train, but it’s a really cool number. And I find after the show, when I see kids at our VIP experience, I ask them a lot of the time what their favorite part of the show is. And sometimes they say, “Oh, I love the train.” And I hear adults say that they love the train as well. That’s one of my favorite parts of the show!
CleveRock: For folks that have not closely followed the stories of the Paw Patrol franchise, will they enjoy the show equally?
C.J. Many of our young audiences are huge fans of the show and the movie, but it follows a brand new storyline, so you don’t have to be familiar with the show or the movie to enjoy it. It’s a really good way to introduce kids to live theater and even really young kids. I mean, we see babies in the audience, and I see one and two-year-olds. I mean, dancing and having the time of their life. It’s a really good, good way to introduce them to live theaters packed with singing and dancing and so much fun that kids of any age would enjoy.
CleveRock: As a performer in the show, what is the most gratifying part of seeing the audience’s reaction?
C.J.: Sometimes it feels like it’s a concert for kids. They go wild, just like adults go wild at a Taylor Swift concert or something. I mean, they’re screaming the character’s names and are so excited. I mean, it’s so surreal when the curtain opens and reveals all the pups. Each of the pups says their name, and the kids will just repeat the name and scream the name after. And it’s just really cool and really sweet to see them scream and yell their names. They are just so excited to see their favorite characters in real life. And there’s lots of audience participation that we invite throughout the show. I mean, they’re very enthusiastically cheering when we ask them to cheer and scream and answer questions for us. They’re yelling their answers and yelling their name, and it’s really cool to see them. I mean, we definitely feel how much they love Paw Patrol.
