When it comes to summer concerts, Blossom Music Center takes the cake as the pinnacle outdoor venue in Northeast Ohio. It was only fitting that the I Can’t Hear You tour made a stop there on June 3, 2025. With a lineup headlined by Pierce the Veil, direct support from Sleeping With Sirens, and opening act, Beach Weather, the lawn forced concert-goers to be a little too close to their fellow attendees..
While Sleeping With Sirens’s performance came to a close, the buzz of the audience never wavered as they awaited Pierce The Veil. As with many concerts, the community of music lovers can make or break an experience. Fans tend to be indicative of the behaviors and values their favorite artists hold, and this night was no exception. The feeling of belonging and the formation of new friendships were evident row after row, and the collective joy of being present in such an environment was shared among all in attendance. That unity of anticipation became electric as Pierce The Veil began their set.
The band, comprised of Vic Fuentes as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Tony Perry as lead guitar, and Jaime Preciado as bassist, with Loniel Robinson on drums, started strong with “Death of an Executioner,” setting the tone of defiant rhythmic chaos that blended the emotion of the music with the presence of pure excitement that the band maintained throughout the night. “Bulls in the Bronx”, “I’m Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket”, and “I’d Rather Die Than Be Famous” were just a few of the songs that made the show unforgettable.
“Floral & Fading” and “Wonderless” were a dual performance between the band and the fans, with the acoustic version of “Today I Saw the Whole World” creating an intimate moment for all. “May These Noises Startle You in Your Sleep Tonight,” “Hell Above,” and “Caraphernelia” reignited the crowd for the closing songs of the main setlist. Few people have had the privilege of witnessing an entire crowd almost overpower an artist with their music, but that was the case for “Emergency Contact,” which was accompanied by an outstanding finish, culminating with “Circles.” Pierce The Veil exited the stage to a standing ovation. The chants grew louder and louder until the band finally returned for the encore: a trifecta grand finale of “Disasterology,” “Hold On Till May,” and—joined by Kellin Quinn—“King for a Day” which provided the perfect ending to a perfect night.
Direct support Sleeping With Sirens, began the night with their hit “Kick Me,” which indeed kicked up the heat. Lead singer Kellin Quinn mirrored the audience, jumping around while maintaining his instantly recognizable voice — a blend of impressively high falsetto, grit, and emotional rawness that is nearly impossible to sustain through a single song, let alone a whole performance. Paired with Justin Hills on bass, Nick Martin on rhythm guitar, touring member Tony Pizzuti on lead guitar, and Matty Best on drums, the skill, talent, and passion layered together to amplify a near-perfect act despite a moment of technical difficulties.
The band delivered a range of their music that spanned the course of their discography, which began in 2010, with newer songs like “Bloody Knuckles” and “Leave It All Behind” mixed in with SWS’ classics: “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn”, “A Trophy Father’s Trophy Son”, and “If You Can’t Hang.” Each song earned more cheers than the last, with everyone, even Blossom staff, rocking out.“Better Off Dead” garnered an eruption from the crowd to even higher heights.
Beach Weather opened the evening with a setlist full of fresh pop-rock tunes that mixed groove with moody undertones. While their music is much softer than the bands they preceded, they prepared the crowds for the storm of energy that was to come. Their closing song, “Sex, Drugs, Etc.” was a superb finish to their performance.
