Don’t miss the walking embodiment of American Heartland rock, John Mellencamp when he brings his new tour, John Mellencamp- Live and In Person 2023 to Playhouse Square!
Mellencamp’s breakthrough album was “American Fool” released in 1982, which included the hit singles “Hurts So Good” and “Jack & Diane”. He continued to have commercial success throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with hit songs such as “Small Town”, “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.”, and “Cherry Bomb”.
In addition to his music career, Mellencamp has also acted in several films, including “Falling from Grace” and “Madison”. He has also been involved in activism and has worked to support various causes such as farmers’ rights and the fight against poverty.
Mellencamp has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received several awards for his music, including a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1983. He continues to tour and record music to this day.
