Cleveland's Music Headliner

Zarna Garg

Zarna Garg, affectionately referred to as the “funny brown mom,” the Indian immigrant is quickly becoming one of the hottest tickets in the comedy realm. She will be at Hilarities on Saturday, April 1 (two shows) and Sunday, April 2! {TICKET INFO/PURCHASE}

Instead of falling in line and assimilating, Garg performs in traditional Indian kurta and bindi attire and offers a hilarious outlook on American culture through her unique lens in a brutally honest way without being mean-spirited. Garg is laughing at us and with us at the same time!

Her shows scheduled for this upcoming weekend (April 1 & 2) will certainly not be Zarna’s first time in the C-L-E. Prior to her comedic ventures, Garg graduated from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University with her law degree (after completing her undergraduate degree in the 330 at the University of Akron). Undoubtedly, there will be some Northeast Ohio-centric jokes built into her sets at Hilarities!

In addition to stand-up comedy, Zarna has found massive success on both TikTok (@zarnagarg) and Instagram (@zarnagarg) and has reached millions of views on both platforms.

Zarna also wrote the 2019 screenplay, Rearranged, described as “The funny and true story of a tenacious teen girl, raised in the patriarchy of wealthy India in the ’90s, who flees an arranged marriage in pursuit of a life and love of her own in America.” The film won the Best Comedy Screenplay Award at the 2019 Austin Film Festival (placing #1 out of 11,000 scripts), and was also a 2019 Academy Nicholl Fellowships Semi-Finalist.
