As for Burks, she is excited for her role in the show and for living the life of a road warrior! She has even found a new favorite city to visit!
“This is the first time in my whole adult life, really, that I’ve been able to travel this much consistently. Our first stop was Minneapolis, and I had never been, and coming from Bowling Green, there was a lot of talk about working in Minneapolis,” she said. “There were a lot of things as far as art, and I was so curious as to why that was. And so when we got to Minneapolis, and we settled in, and we started exploring the city, I was really surprised and very, I won’t say I was floating, but I was really embracing what I was experiencing in the city. And everyone was so wonderful and so friendly and very much about getting more people invested in the arts culture. And so I fell in love with Minneapolis, but Ohio is my forever home. “
“As far as adjusting to tour life, this is a whole new bag,” she continued. “We’re constantly shifting from either flying to cities or busing to cities, and then just readjusting my mind and my body to know that each of these places are going to have different weather changes. They’re going to have different terrain. Where are we now? Oh yeah, Kansas City!

With so many choices for expendable entertainment dollars in Northeast Ohio, it can be hard to decide where to allocate that money. Clue seems to be an excellent choice.
“This is a time to be able to take a breath and laugh with some strangers, and you are free to laugh at your loudest, your quietest. However, for 80 minutes, for just 80 minutes, you get to see some really incredible artists,” Burks said. “It brings a board game to life. And if you don’t have any other time to do that, this would be the time to do it. Again, it’s 80 minutes of your evening. You’re probably out before 9:00, really. You get to take the time just to sit back or lean forward and engage with what’s going on in front of you and experience a unique piece of art that provides laughter, joy, unexpected ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs.’ And it’s just a really, really wonderful time to spread a little light, a little light, as our world is constantly shifting.”
And, of course, Burks will have family and friends from all over Northeast Ohio coming to Akron to see her perform!
“I’m hearing talks that people need to get their tickets as soon as possible,” she cautioned. “I’m really, really excited. And I know that both Cleveland and Akron are going to show up in really wonderful ways. And it’s only a three-day stint for Akron, which I wish there were more, but both Cleveland and Akron have very special places in my heart. I’m very grateful that we get to be able to come to the area and share this with people, folks who have seen it already back in 2020, folks who have never seen it before, who want to come to experience the show.”
