LOL! FALL INTO LAUGHS THIS AUTUMN IN CLEVELAND

‘Tis the season for comedy! From the big arenas of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and Wolstein Center to Cleveland’s prized Hilarities Fourth Street Theatre, down the freeway to The Funny Stop in Cuyahoga Falls, and everywhere in between, Northeast Ohio will be ROTFLTAO and CLAH (cackling like a hen, for those not hip to acronyms).

Comedy legends Dave Chappelle, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Jim Gaffigan, Tim Allen, and Chris Tucker headline a list that also includes some of today’s hottest comics, up-and-comers, a plethora of female laughstresses, and let’s be honest, some washed up hacks!

#1 Dave Chappelle (Friday, September 8 | ROCKET MORTGAGE FIELDHOUSE)

Welp….We save the best for first! The greatest comedian of this generation (all time?) will be performing in his home state of Ohio when he takes the stage at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, OH on Friday, September 8! Never seen Chappelle? Believe us when we say that you have no idea what you’re missing.

Chappelle famously held shows in a (literal) cornfield in Yellow Springs, OH DURING the pandemic, making it the safest (and only) ticket in town. (READ ALL ABOUT IT!)

#2 Steve-O (FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 | GOODYEAR THEATER)

The jackass from the ‘Jackass’ MTV and film franchise will be at Akron’s Goodyear Theatre on Friday, September 8.

 Steve-O willing to do whatever it took to become famous, even if it meant stapling his ball sack to his leg. 

Steve-O regularly produces content for his YouTube channel which routinely racks up millions of views, and his ‘Wild Ride with Steve-O’ podcast has proven to be a fan favorite with guests like Post Malone, Demi Lovato, Shaq, Tom Delonge from Blink 182, and more.

Steve-O is not a stranger to Northeast Ohio! He has performed at numerous venues in the Greater Cleveland area over the years AND he also participated in the Cleveland Browns Perfect (0-16) parade in sub-zero temperatures!

#3 Liz Meile (THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 | HILARITIES FOURTH STREET THEATRE

Liz Meile will be at Hilarities Fourth Street Theatre for ONE NIGHT ONLY on Thursday, September 14. Meile has released multiple comedy specials on YouTube and is one of the top up-and-coming female comics.

At 18 she was profiled in The New Yorker Magazine, at 22 she appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham.” She’s also appeared on Comedy Central’s “This Week at the Comedy Cellar,” NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me,” Hulu’s “Coming To The Stage,” and AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live.”

She has several viral videos on Youtube, Instagram and Tiktok including jokes “Feminist Sex Positions,” “F*ck Finland,” and “London Cops Are Better Than American Cops.”

Her first book, “Why Cats Are Assholes” was released in March of 2021 is now available everywhere.

#4 Jim Gaffigan (THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 + FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 | KEYBANK STATE THEATRE)

One of the biggest names in comedy, Jim Gaffigan will perform back-to-back nights at Cleveland’s prized Playhouse Square.

Sure! You’ll have to sit through the tired “Hot Pocket” bit. (Give it up, Jim!) Other than that, one thing Gaffigan has mastered is frequently coming up with new material and keeping his show fresh for his fans that come out year after year!

The seven-time Grammy-nominated comedian, actor, writer, producer, two-time New York Times best-selling author, three-time Emmy-winning, top touring performer, and multi-platinum-selling recording artist. He is known around the world for his unique brand of humor, which largely revolves around his observations on life.

He makes lots of jokes about being fat, garnering no sympathy from this 400lbs+ preview writer.

He is regarded as a “clean” comic, using little profanity in his routines. He has released several successful comedy specials, including Mr. Universe, Obsessed, Cinco, and Quality Time.
