Cuyahoga Falls, OH’s Funny Stop (who recently lost its patriarch, Pete Barakat — RIP, PETE!) welcomes one of the biggest names on its calendar, Carlos Mencia!

His style of comedy is often political and involves issues of race relations, Latin American culture, criminal justice, and social class. He is best known as the host of the Comedy Central show Mind of Mencia (2005–2008).

The controversial comedian is sure to ruffle some feathers. Don’t get canceled, Carlos!

#7 KATHLEEN MADIGAN (SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 | KEYBANK STATE THEATRE)

Comedian Kathleen Madigan’s 33-year comedy career is showing no signs of slowing down as she will be kicking off her all-new tour, Boxed Wine & Tiny Banjos in 2023. Her highly anticipated sixth stand-up special, Hunting Bigfoot premiered world-wide on February 21st, 2023 as an Amazon Original. The brand-new special explores topics including Madigan’s aging parents, interactions with millennials, and hunting bigfoot.

#8 NICK DI PAOLO (SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 | HILARITIES FOURTH STREET THEATRE)

In this day of watered down comedy Nick Di Paolo’s brutally honest performances remind us of what great stand up should be – funny, socially relevant, and a little bit reckless.

His strong political opinions and razor wit make him a perfect fit for talk radio. He currently hosts “The Nick Di Paolo Show” Mondays through Thursdays and has been featured on “The Nick Di Paolo Show” on SiriusXM, and “The Nick & Artie Show” on DirectTV.

He has performed on The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Conan O’ Brien. He was twice nominated for an Emmy for his writing on HBO’s The Chris Rock Show. He has also had three half hour standup specials on Comedy Central and four one-hour specials: “A Breath of Fresh Air”, “Raw Nerve”, “Another Senseless Killing”, and “Inflammatory”. He was one of the stars on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and a stand out on many Comedy Central Roasts.

Not limited to stand-up, radio and writing, he has had acting roles on FX’s Louie, Inside Amy Schumer, The Sopranos, Cop Show and Louis CK’s critically acclaimed Horace and Pete as well as many other sitcoms.

#9 TINA FEY & AMY POEHLER (SEPTEMBER 21-24 | KEYBANK STATE THEATRE)

Two of the funniest women in the biz are teaming up for a night of laughs! The former ‘Saturday Night Live’ actresses are bringing their act for a plethora of shows in of just a handful of markets that are lucky enough to host the duo! These shows are sure to be one of the highlights of this STACKED comedy Fall season.

Join Amy Poehler and Tina Fey to celebrate their thirty years of friendship with an evening of jokes, stories and convertainment.

Fey is an award-winning writer, actress, author, and producer, known for creating and starring as ‘Liz Lemon’ in 30 Rock. 30 Rock holds the record for the most Emmy nominations in one season for any comedy series (22), and received a total of 103 Emmy nominations and 16 wins over 7 seasons. Prior to creating 30 Rock, Fey completed nine seasons as head writer, cast member, and co- anchor of “Weekend Update” on Saturday Night Live. While at SNL, Fey also wrote the screenplay for the hit comedy film, Mean Girls, which Fey subsequently adapted for Broadway (12 Tony Award nominations).’

Poehler is one of Hollywood’s most versatile and sought-after talents, with credits including actress, writer, executive producer, and bestselling author. Poehler, perhaps best known for her starring role on the Emmy-nominated NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation, can currently be seen as co-host alongside Maya Rudolph in the second season of Peacock’s Baking It, where she also serves as executive producer.

#10 STEVEN MICHAEL QUEZADA (FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 + SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 | FUNNYSTOP)

Perhaps most recognized as Steven Gomez in the smash television series ‘Breaking Bad,’ when he’s not busy serving as a politician in Bernalillo County, Arizona, Steven Michael Quezada can be found on the comedy circuit!

He returns to the Funny Stop in Cuyahoga Falls, OH this fall!

He has appeared in films such as First Snow (2006), Beerfest (2006), and Kites (2010). He hosted the talk show The After After Party in Albuquerque from 2010 to 2012. Quezada portrays a priest presiding over a roadside funeral in country singer Eric Church’s music video for the single Give Me Back My Hometown (2014). He currently performs stand-up comedy for Carnival Cruise Line.
