Rock on the Range 2017 Lineup Announcement!

Rock on the Range 2017 lineup announcement

Hey, Rangers! (For the uninitiated, that’s slang for Rock on the Range fanatics.)  It’s here! The 2017 Rock on the Range lineup has been unveiled. Rumors were relatively quiet this year compared to select previous years, making this a bombshell to those eagerly awaiting the list of bands on the 2017 bill.

Metallica and Soundgarden. Holy. [Expletive]. [Followed by another expletive]. Does anyone really need another reason to go? How about The Offspring? Primus, anyone? Who is up for some Skillet? Bush, Chevelle, Seether, The Pretty Reckless.…PLUS, a plethora of underrated bands on the second and third stages, highlighted by  Norma Jean, Sylar, and Mother Feather. (Full lineup can be found below!) From top to bottom, this is arguably the strongest Rock on the Range lineup yet.

Produced by AEG Live and celebrating year number 11, ROTR has solidified itself as THE premier straight-up-rock festival in the country (and, possibly the world). As always, the festival takes place in Columbus, OH at Mapfre Stadium (formerly Crew Stadium) — (not the greatest of venues for a rock festival, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?) This year’s event takes place on May 19, 20 + 21.

Pre-sale tickets are available, RIGHT HERE!

Broke up in two price tiers, general admission field tickets (starting at $199.50) and general admission stadium tickets (starting at $99.50) for 3-day passes, unique ticket options include VIP packages, camping packages, hotel packages, and layaway tickets that offer a payment plan in three installments. Complete ticket information is available on the official Rock on the Range website.

My, my, how this festival has grown. This writer attended the first edition of the festival in 2007. One day, two stages, fourteen bands and an attendance of 35,000. A trio of top-billed bands including ZZ Top, Evanescence, and Velvet Revolver. The festival lacked top-tier supporting talent and featured some awful performances from Whitestarr, 2 Cents, and Puddle of Mudd.

Fast forward to 2016. the festival now has expanded to three days, three stages, more than 50 bands, superior talent across the board, vendors galore, media flying in from all over the country and internationally, and an attendance of a whopping 120,000.

Even bigger things are expected in 2017!
